Applying for a QUU Built Over/Adjacent Asset approval or a Brisbane City Council Built Over/Adjacent Asset Stormwater approval requires accurate infrastructure information. Due to limited public access to detailed records, providing the following information with your application is crucial for a smoother process.

To ensure your application progresses efficiently, please provide the following details:

1. Infrastructure Location

Clearly indicate the position of infrastructure in relation to property boundaries and any existing structures:

  • Accurate pipe/s location: Show precise measurements from property lines and building elements to all pipes.

  • Accurate manhole/s location: Indicate the exact position of all manholes with dimensions from property lines and building elements.

  • Accurate property connection/s location: Clearly mark the location of all property connections and provide measurements from property lines and building elements.

2. Infrastructure Identification Information (Helpful, but not always mandatory)

Where possible, including the following identifiers can assist in the assessment process:

  • Infrastructure identification numbers (e.g., QUU pipe number, manhole number).

  • Pipe diameter.

  • Property connection diameter.

3. Infrastructure Surface and Invert Information

Provide accurate levels relative to the natural ground level:

  • Accurate pipe/s surface and invert level: Measurement to the top of the pipe.

  • Accurate manhole/s surface and invert level.

  • Accurate property connection/s surface and invert level: Measurement to the top of the property connection.

4. CCTV Footage and Report (Likely Required for BCC Stormwater Applications)

  • CCTV footage of the pipe: This is generally a requirement for Brisbane City Council Built Over/Adjacent Asset Stormwater applications. QUU or Unity Water may also request this.

  • Associated Report: As a minimum, the report should include the following information (as per the QUU Referral Guidelines):

    • A Pipe Location Report associated with the building works which includes:

      • A site plan showing:

        • The location of the infrastructure within the site.

        • The dimensions to the infrastructure from property boundaries.

      • The Reduced Level (RL) at the top of the sewer main in Australian Height Datum (AHD) at each of the retaining wall locations.

Important Note: General photos of infrastructure are insufficient and will not be accepted as a Pipe Location Report.

Obtaining accurate information is crucial for efficient application processing and helps designers and engineers create compliant plans. Relying solely on Dial Before You Dig information may not provide the level of detail required. Providing comprehensive and accurate infrastructure details from the outset will significantly reduce application time frames and avoid delays due to insufficient information.
